Mass drivers themselves aren't bugged to address that part of your statement. ![]() In most fights, you currently care about DPS over alpha damage since you're not going to one shot someone's shields and ship with a light fighter. They shoot slightly faster but have slightly lower alpha damage. Alpha damage is the damage from a single shot. This will be a bit longer since I have to go a bit more into the current state of PVP I feel to accurately explain everything that went into mass drivers meta.įor your original statement, strifes have a higher alpha damage. I just prefer to be able to chase people to the ends of the system if I need to for bounties or otherwise. I'll have to do testing to know for sure.Ītlas just gets you from PO to Microtech with some fuel left over which is pretty much my requirement for a QD, but yours might be different. #Strife mass driver not fitting vanguard nose mounts PatchMy guess is that Attritions will be the meta next patch because they penetrate shields a little currently, but who knows. Most PVP fights should happen at roughly 600m, so you shouldn't typically be max ranging shots unless you want to miss. I prefer Sledge IIs because they shoot slightly faster for a negligible damage and range decrease. This negates the impact of EMP to an extent.įR-66 is just the best shield for regen and health. I can get back into the fight roughly a second after getting EMP'd if I'm quick about powering back up. This is primarily for fighting other ships with EMP. If anything I said is factually wrong please correct me, otherwise this is my personal recommendation for loadouts.Ĭooler and Power Plant both have low start up times while being enough to keep all your components happy. This is all my personal preference, and I majority of it isn’t matter-of-fact. In terms of PvE, I’ve heard that the Neutron Repeaters are good, although I generally just go in with the mass drivers I already have equipped. Scatter guns if you know you’re going against a bigger ship, mass drivers/scorpions for smaller. I would say to use the ones that beat fit the situation. However, the arrow can also make good use of both Scorpion Auto Gatling and the Ballistic Scatterguns due to its maneuverability and speed. Sledge II Mass drivers are my go to right now on any and all ships that can gimbal them. ![]() Weapons: If you wanna do PvP, ballistic weapons all day every day. Choose the one you feel more comfortable with. I personally go with Mirage, but that’s more to do with my flight style. Finally, FR-66 is an okay middle ground between the two, but doesn’t excel in either one. A good shield to tank a few shots while you put yours down range, then turn and burn until it recharges. Palisade shield has highest health, but lowest regen of the three. With the arrow being so small and nimble, it’s relatively easy to use this shield well. Mirage shield has lowest of the three, but has 0 regen delay after being shot, meaning that you can effectively maintain 100% shield strength with evasive flying. Shields: Really have three options, all make sense so it’s more of a personal choice for you. I have noticed that some power plants feel like they have longer power cycles, but it could be placebo. Never had power problems with it, and any time I’ve been EMPed it has a quick power cycle from what I’ve seen, although truthfully I don’t know if that is even what affects it. Powerplant: Quadracell is my usual go to. ![]() Each component (including thrusters, weapons, and actual ship components) have their own heat threshold, meaning that even if you get the best of the best coolers, you will still overheat if you abuse the certain part. Coolers: They matter, but not as much as what you might think. ![]()
